First of All

Everything I’ve written focuses on your reasoning as a parent because your reasoning determines how you raise your children. Think of your job or career. If you’re fortunate to have a job or career that you love, you’re going to give it 100%, turn out the best product, exceed your goals, or do what it takes to reach the highest position. But, if you’re just focused on paying the bills or meeting other needs and desires and the job will get those things done, you’re only going to be there to meet the requirements for that paycheck. If you’re working somewhere out of sheer survival and everything you do is because you have to do it, you’re going to be unhappy, your performance will be minimal, you’ll be reluctant to hear the alarm go off in the morning, and you’ll come to resent every aspect of that job. Plus, the pay will never be enough to satisfy you.

It’s the same thing with parenting; it is a job – the hardest job you will ever do. Just remember to give your children the best of you, because that’s what parenting is all about.
