9 Making Choices

When you have to make tough choices, how do you handle your final decisions?

Do you expect your child to know something that you know they shouldn’t? Is it an age-appropriate expectation?

Taking Sides

Have you ever said what your child would or would not do? Be honest.

If your child has been sent to the principal’s office or had a run-in with anyone in authority, what stance do you take? Do you hear everybody’s accounting first?

Do you give more weight to what is said by anyone in particular? Why or why not?

Do As I Say

Do you practice the “because I said so” response to your child’s why’s? If so, why?

Sometimes a child can ask something you don’t know the answer to. How do you respond?
