Tell Me a Story

I wrote a post in another life that talked about why people lie. And I had a little exercise for people to tell either the truth or a lie and let people guess whether it was one or the other. I’ve decided to sort of repeat the same in this post.

The gist of the post was about reasons for lying to others and whether you could really justify doing so. From Santa and the Tooth Fairy tales told to children to the “little white lies” told to people so they won’t feel hurt or hate you, people are capable of telling lies and most often have what they consider to be a justifiable reason for doing so.

There are exceptions (very rare ones) where people with Asperger’s, for instance, find it very difficult to tell any untruth, and there are scammers who master at being deceptive.

Can you tell a whopper or a hard-to-swallow truth that people find believable?
