“Some men only know how to talk about what they want to do – and then there are men who get it done.” Colin Whitehead, Harlem Shuffle
There is no power in anything – not who, what, when, where, how, or even why – without one very important word. This word is the only thing capable of manifesting a thought, belief, or desire. Nothing has true significance without it.
Why someone believes in something or desires to see something happen is significant because it initiates and gives reason for something that eventually occurs. But it’s also an afterthought that acts as a closer and gives solace to survivors of heartbreak and tragedy so they can (sometimes) move on.
That sets things into motion and gets the job done. The job is not necessarily something good or productive, or even legal. It can be something that hurts, disrupts, or causes trauma.
Good or bad, the only thing of true significance is that it has been acted upon. That something was carried through.
