You is the Only One

The use of pronouns has taken on a new meaning since people have started making their genders more specific because of their sexuality. I can understand the use of these pronouns in correspondence or when speaking about a person, but why would anyone want to be addressed directly in the third person?

The only pronoun that should be used in the second and third person is “You.” All other pronouns are supposed to be specific to the person being addressed. I and my are first person because you are speaking about yourself. You and your are used when speaking in the second and third person because you can be speaking directly to a person or about a person. All other pronouns (she/he, him/her) are third person because they are only speaking about a person. And they is also a third person pronoun speaking about more than one person.

Why not use “you” or the person’s name when speaking to them? Using a third person pronoun takes you out of the conversation – it’s exclusion, not inclusion. I would be more offended if someone spoke to me as if I were not even there.
