The opposite of pride of course is humility, but can a person be too humble? Humility is also an extreme when people delete themselves through sacrifice and for the sake of others.

Thinking about humility, it should never be tied to sacrifice because sacrifice diminishes your self-worth. But you don’t have to totally diminish yourself because you want to do something that may cause you temporary hardship. What would be prudent would be to know that the sacrifice is in line with your personal values or consideration and care for others, like your family and friends.

It’s more dangerous to sacrifice for an idea or ideal, especially if it is introduced by someone who may have an ulterior motive. Look for signs of self-serving by the entity requesting your sacrifice.
