What spoils things for everyone? Not the original bad apple, but the supporters of the bad apple. Why? Supporters either cheer the bad apple on or stand clear to allow the bad apple to continue wreaking havoc.
There’s a lot of support for bad apples in our society. It’s the only possible explanation for a convicted criminal’s ability to run for the highest office in the nation, and the reason why celebrities become infamous. No one can tell me that people should be surprised about the way a well-known person acts when caught doing something horrendous or having a closet door opened. There is support for the bad behavior already known by those close to that person, or signs are always present.
And the worst part about it is that those supporters are yes-men rather than friends. Talent and/or money do not excuse bad behavior; and enabling that bad behavior is specifically detrimental to the celebrity. S/he may need some professional help, therapy, rehabilitation, or something to improve their disposition or stop the bad behavior. Not addressing it for the sake of “creativity” or talent is inexcusable.
The entourage needs a voice that calls that person to task and addresses whatever needs to be addressed so that surprises for the public don’t happen, and bad behavior does not escalate and has a chance to end. Things that are not addressed don’t just fade away.
