Touchy, Touchy

People have an absolute right to let others know they are in the wrong or that they are out of line or not reading the room correctly. But when did people become oversensitive to everything, to the point that even comedians have to be careful about their jokes in order to not offend?

Parents and teachers are demanding that other adults apologize to their children for calling them to task. I can understand if someone was going overboard with informing a child they did something wrong, but there is a way to do so. And if the telling was done without embarrassing the child or the child being yelled at, no adult should be required to apologize.

If and when someone is ostracized or wrongly accused of an act or anything similar, they should be outraged or be in their feelings. But then people are expressing themselves in this manner over things that are not even related to them (like actions of Kens and Karens) after being invasive.

To sum it up, people should not have the absolute right to blast others, interfere in other people’s lives, or bully for that matter – especially if they can’t take the repercussions.
