There are two extremes to how people act: either over-preparing or being reactionary. Today let’s talk about the reactionaries. Take our lovely pandemic for example. There were protocols in place, but they were ignored and everything went awry with using the barn door method.
What is the barn door method? It’s closing the barn door after all the animals have escaped or the wolf has already entered and slaughtered.
I remember attending the WHO conference in the early 2000’s when some who were unaware discovered that prevention was more practical than dealing with the after effects of bad habits, lack of exercise, overeating, etc.
Examples of good prevention: Protecting our borders by having a strong military presence in place. And now people are becoming more cognizant of the need for preventive measures concerning their health.
My concern is why – like with COVID – are pertinent issues ignored until it is too late to implement a viable remedy.
There are several chinks in this society that are always being ignored that only grow and get worse. And everybody waits to close the barn door after the wars, riots, shootings, and other hiccups occur.
